Breaking Barriers, Building Futures

Women have made remarkable strides in the workforce, but challenges remain in employment, wage equality, and leadership representation. In Canada, the employment rate for women aged 15 and over stands at 57.1%, with core-aged women (25 to 54) achieving a record-high participation rate of 81.0% in 2022, even among those with young children. Yet, wage gaps persist, and these disparities are even greater for immigrant and indigenous women. Globally, efforts to close gender gaps are advancing, with Europe leading the way, having closed 75% of its overall gender gap in 2023. However, women continue to face barriers in accessing leadership roles and equitable opportunities.
